How we measure

The acquisition funnel in your Performance dashboard. Each stage uses the same plain-language labels customers see after connecting Google Analytics and Search Console. Sample counts below are illustrative of how the funnel is read — not a customer claim.

What each metric means

Copied from the in-product glossary so marketing claims stay aligned with the dashboard owners use every week.

Visitors (sessions)

Times someone opened your site in this period. Return visits count again each time.

Engaged readers

Visits Google counts as meaningful — roughly 10+ seconds, a second page view, or a conversion action. Not the same as reading the whole article.

Search impressions

Times your pages showed up in Google results (whether clicked or not).

Leads

Tracked actions that usually mean a real inquiry — for example a contact form or “request a quote.”

Search clicks

Clicks from Google Search Console only — not the same as site visits in Analytics. One person can click once but generate multiple Analytics sessions.

User intent

What someone was trying to do when they found you — learn (informational), compare options (commercial), or take action (transactional).

Example of how trends appear in your Performance dashboard after Search Console and Analytics are connected. Charts are illustrative — your site’s curve will differ.
